Bio

Soledad Llames graduated as an Agricultural Engineer from the College of Agronomy and Veterinary of the National University of Río Cuarto in 1994, and she obtained a degree in Landscape and Environmental at the National University of La Plata in 1999. Ever since, for over more than 29 years now, she has worked as an independent professional in the province of Mendoza, undertaking landscaping projects and working as technical director and consultant for small, medium and large-scale architectural projects. The first 10 years of her career were dedicated to traditional-landscaping private commissions, which included over 300 parks and gardens. In the years of 2004 and 2005, she began exploring xeriscaping, or landscaping for arid zones. She decided to specialize in this field, in which she has completed important public and private projects for urbanizations, wineries, vineyards, parks, hotels and lodges.

A founding member of the ONG “Argentine Landscape Network – Mendoza Node”, Soledad is also a member of the Council for the Protection of Mendoza’s Urban Trees, and counseling member of INTA (National Institute for Agricultural Technology) in its Guaymallén chapter. She has published in specialized landscaping and gardening journals, spoken at conferences and seminaries, and received awards for the environmental commitment of her projects.
